How to compose music based on theory and by “feel”.
How to add dynamics, tension and resolve to your songs.
How to perform your music live or work with studio musicians.
Elements of Workshop:
LISTENING: each workshop will feature one or two songs that we will examine for elements of style and historical and cultural significance.
LEARNING: You can only play what you know. Each course will feature a lesson with take home materials for your practice. You will have homework.
PLAYING: You will apply what you learn as soon as you learn it by playing along side professional musicians.
RECORDING: You will see and hear yourself playing through audio and video recording. You will learn how to maximize your practice via technology.
HISTORY: Guitar music, especially blues music, is meaningful music. After this workshop you will understand how and why the blues came about and its impact on modern music.
